Thank you also to photographer Riley Norskog for this great photo!

UPDATE: The Grey Fire burning 3 miles east of Greycliff has grown to 197 acres and is now 15% contained. More than 100 personnel are on scene, supported by 15 engines, 2 dozers, 2 tenders and a Type 2 helicopter.

The southeast edge of the fire remains the most active area. Yesterday's winds carried embers into dry vegetation, creating uneven burn patterns crews are working to fill in. Fire behavior today is expected to remain moderate with continued smoldering and torching in heavier fuels. Smoke will remain visible over the coming days.

There is a high chance of rain between Saturday night and Monday, though wind gusts of 30-40 mph are also expected and will be monitored closely.

A Temporary Flight Restriction is in place over the fire area. Unauthorized aircraft — including drones — are prohibited and pose a serious safety risk to crews.
The public is asked to continue avoiding the area. We will share updates as they become available.

Winds will increase Tuesday afternoon as a cold front moves across the region. Conditions will be warm and dry ahead of the front, leading to elevated grass fire concerns. Light scattered showers, and a low chance (10-30%) for thunderstorms, will follow behind the front.
