After a week filled with sadness, I found myself stopping to reflect on words my mother used to tell us growing

“Everything in this world will come to an end, but Gods word is forever.”

Earlier this week, many of us found ourselves asking the hard questions —Why do bad things happen? Why does God allow heartache or tragedy?

Sometimes we forget the bigger picture. The ultimate goal is to save as many souls as we can and lead one another toward heaven. Life has a way of reminding us what really matters faith, family, and love for one another.

If we can trust God to fill our cups on our darkest days, imagine what He can do when our cups are only halfway empty.

This week, I attended two church services, and both churches were filled beyond capacity — seats were scarce. It reminded me of the beauty of what church should look like every Sunday: people coming together in faith, in prayer, and in support of one another.

And in a way, the people we lost completed their mission here on earth, because through their lives and their passing, they led many hearts back into church this past week. That is the beauty I am choosing to take away from such a tragic and heartbreaking time.

The beauty of honoring, celebrating, and mourning together as one community. 💙

So today, I simply want to encourage you:
Go to church.

Because life is short, and every day is a gift.

Stay strong, stay faithful, and take care of each other. 🤍

We have received multiple calls regarding the destruction of the speed bump on Midway Rd. County employees will be out there within the next hour to clear the debris and ensure the roadway is safe.

Please be cautious and mindful of the speed limit while traveling through the area. There will not be a speed bump in place temporarily until our crews can complete repairs.

We have recently received our water truck back in service, and repair and construction work for Midway Rd. is set to resume construction.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to keep our roads safe for everyone.

What do you say when you can feel the sadness in the air? The days have just felt heavy… and grim.

I am rarely at a loss for words, but lately my heart has been quiet. Our community has been experiencing loss after loss. While we have lost some truly great role models, people who helped shape who we became, we have also been grieving children and grieving the pain of what could have been.

I can’t help but believe that God’s presence is still in this. God is not an evil God. He is a God who guides us, teaches us, and walks with us even through our darkest moments. I truly believe He is calling us closer to Him, reminding us to love harder, lead better, and hold one another tighter.

While our community feels this sorrow together, we must remember that the families will carry a void that no amount of words can ever fill. What matters now is how we show up for one another - with love, compassion, and faith. The best thing we can do is stand beside them, pray for them, and live our lives in a way that honors those we have lost.

Today, I simply ask our community to pray. Pray for the families. Pray for the children. Pray for healing, strength, and comfort during this difficult time.

Lord, we place our community, our hearts, and our sorrow into Your healing hands. Surround us with Your peace and guide us as we walk together through this season of grief.

Life is precious, and tomorrow is never promised. Live in a way that reflects how you want your legacy to be remembered.

Happy Autism Awareness Month.

From nonverbal to high functioning, every child carries a gift uniquely their own. I’ve learned that different doesn’t mean less — it means seeing the world in a brighter, louder, more beautiful way.

As a community, I know we may seem disconnected at times, but I can tell you firsthand the importance of spreading awareness and what can change when it reaches all the way to the top. Autism Awareness isn’t just a day — it’s a month-long reminder of how we can better support and assist families and communities walking this journey every single day.

From a leader’s perspective, it is starting to show, I can tell you we are changing the world a little bit at a time. From our city offering gated parks that allow families even a 30-minute break — relief that is sometimes desperately needed… to shopping carts advocated by moms, for moms, raising children with special needs… to making sure that when we say all-inclusive for families of all types, we truly TRY and deliver, and taken in to consideration when ordering park equipment and designing our public spaces.

The world is changing around us — and that is because of us.

So to the parents navigating therapies, sensory needs, meltdowns, victories, and milestones big and small — we see you. Keep dancing through life with those beautiful hearts and brilliant minds.

Our children were never meant to fit in…they were born to stand out. 💙🧩✨
