Evelin is a college student from Estonia. She will be going door to door around Nobles County presenting and selling educational materials. She is not affiliated with the local schools and is selling these materials as a way of fulfilling her summer internship.
She will be in Bigelow this week! Please do not be alarmed!! Nobles County Sheriff’s Department is also aware and has granted their permission!

A few important reminders to City of Bigelow residents:

The City of Bigelow does not own or manage any of the electricity any longer, all reports or questions must go to Nobles Cooperative Electric. The city has no more information than the residents.

All vehicles must be licensed and registered, Nobles County Sheriff’s department is enforcing this currently.

There are no chickens or roosters allowed within city limits. This is also being enforced by Nobles County Sheriff’s Deparment.

All animals must be licensed with the city of Bigelow and on a leash at all times

Meter readings are due by the 15th of the month or you will be charged the fee to read them.

All ATV vehicles must follow road rules and are not allowed in the park.

There are 2 council seats opening for 4 year terms coming up along with a mayor seat that is a 2 year term. There is a $10 filing fee, along with a forum. Filing opens July 14th and closes July 28th and must be done during city clerk hours. This will also be in the monthly billing.

Dear City of Bigelow residents,

We want to remind all residents that atvs and four wheelers must be operated with care, a valid license, and proper riding technique within city limits. Recently, the city has received an increasing number of complaints regarding unsafe and inappropriate use of these vehicles.

Reports include ATVs being driven through and in the city park, traveling in the wrong traffic lanes, swerving on the road, and other unsafe behavior. These actions create safety concerns for both the riders and the community.

If you witness unsafe ATV or four-wheeler activity please contact Nobles County Sheriff’s department at 507-295-5400.

We love the freedom of our little community but we need to keep the community safe and respectful for everyone.

Pick up clean up is already in progress. Letters were sent in billing notifying everyone of the dates. If they picked up already they will not go back. This is something we do to help the city, we are not required to do so. They will not pick up regular garbage, or things that can go in your garbage.
Please read the letters in your billing so you are aware what is going on and when. It was sent out twice. Thank you.

The city is receiving a lot of complaints about dogs running loose in town.
Please follow ordinances and have your animals registered and on a leash.
If you would like to report this not being followed Nobles County Sheriff’s Department is who you would contact if you would like the situation handled.
