🏆 Apple City FFA had an outstanding week at the 97th Pennsylvania State FFA Convention and Activities Week at Penn State University!
Eight Biglerville FFA members represented our chapter in competitions, leadership activities, and workshops alongside more than 2,300 FFA members from across Pennsylvania.
🐄 **Individual Achievements**
Sophia Taylor earned a Bronze Award in Horse Judging.
Elyse Mead earned Gold Medals in both Dairy Showmanship and Junior Prepared Public Speaking. She was also named Pennsylvania State Champion in Dairy Showmanship and will represent Pennsylvania at The Big E in September.
🌱 **State Champion Agronomy Team**
The Agronomy team of Kara Mentzer, Eli Nelson, Ethan Shank, and Mason Smyers captured the Pennsylvania State Championship.
Ethan Shank also placed third individually in the state.
With their championship performance, the team will represent Pennsylvania at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis this October.
Their success was supported by former FFA member Jack Shannon, along with Andy Sanders of Ag Com Fertilizer Division and Tammy Wydell of Ag Com Grain Division.
🗳️ **Leadership in Action**
Jenna Walter served as a State Convention Delegate, working with students from across Pennsylvania to discuss FFA policies and procedures.
A proposal she supported has advanced to the FFA Board for consideration. If approved, the change would allow sixth-grade students to participate in FFA State Competitions, creating new opportunities for younger FFA members across the state.
