CORRECTION: The Board of Health has changed the notice. The spraying will be conducted by a truck mounted spraying. The areas will remain the same.

Public Notification – Mosquito Control Spraying 08/04/26

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health has announced that West Nile Virus has been detected in mosquitoes collected from Billerica.

Therefore, to control the adult mosquitoes, the Central Mass Mosquito Control Project (CMMCP) will conduct an aerial spraying in the affected areas in Billerica on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, beginning at 8:30 PM up until midnight. The map provided below are the streets that will be treated.

This year, the Billerica health fair tradition returns under new leadership as the Billerica Wellness Festival! Organizers from the Billerica Health Department, Council on Aging, Billerica Public Library, and Billerica Public Schools are joining forces to create a lively, family-friendly celebration showcasing a wide variety of wellness related vendors from across the region.

We are actively seeking sponsors and vendors to help make this a wonderful event. Please note, vendor spots are subject to event size and scope limitations. This is the last week to apply for a 2026 Family Grant from Neurodiversity Support for Children, Inc. to help fund a neuropsychological evaluation, behavioral health treatment, &/or advocacy & legal services! Learn more and apply here: https://www.neurodiversitysupportforchildren.com/family-grants

The NSC provides financial assistance to families with a neurodivergent child (ages 1-17). Financial assistance is offered to families for neuropsychological evaluations, advocacy services, and research-supported therapy.

Grant amounts:
• up to $5,000 per family

Who is eligible:
• Neurodivergent children who have a diagnosed or suspected developmental, neurological, social, learning, &/or psychological disability
• Massachusetts resident
• Parents/guardians should be able to clearly outline their need for financial assistance and plan for usage of grant funds.
• Parents may apply once every calendar year; there is a limit of 3 awards per family.
