Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.

From all of us at the Billings Police Department, we ask our community to take a moment today to reflect, remember, and honor our fallen heroes.

Downtown Billings briefly turned into a live-action game of Frogger on Friday after a mother duck and her tiny duckling crew attempted an unauthorized crossing near 6th Avenue North and North 27th Street. 🦆🚓

Billings Police officers responded immediately to reports of reckless waddling and failure to yield to traffic. After a short foot pursuit at approximately 2 MPH, officers successfully contained the suspects using advanced duck-wrangling techniques and one highly tactical plastic tote.

The feathered fugitives were safely transported to a nearby park with access to water, where they were released pending further migration. Witnesses say the ducklings remained calm throughout the ordeal, although one officer may now have permanent emotional attachment issues.

No citations were issued, but the mother duck was verbally warned about supervising minors near busy intersections.

Another successful operation by BPD’s newly formed Waterfowl Crimes Unit.
