Established in 1950 as part of Zonta International. Zonta International seeks to advance the status of women worldwide by improving the legal, political, economic, educational, health and professional status of women at the global and local levels through service a

nd advocacy. With the generosity and collective action of Zontians and friends around the world, Zonta International has supported projects in 46 countries, provided scholarships and awards to women around the globe, and been a powerful advocate for change in our local and international communities, thereby transforming the world and women's place in it. The founding of Zonta International occupies a unique moment in women's history. Established in Buffalo, New York, USA in 1919, early members were among the first generation of college-educated women, the first generation of North American women to vote, and a part of the growing, though still comparatively small, legion of women entering the workforce. Over the decades, Zonta International has grown into a worldwide service organization of executives in business and the professions working together to advance the status of women. There are more than 30,000 members in more than 1,200 clubs in 63 countries all over the world. Inspiration and Founder
While working in a prominent role at the Buffalo Express at a time when women rarely held leadership positions, playwright and journalist Marian de Forest conceived the idea of an organization that would bring together women in executive positions. She envisioned a strong network that would help women reach their rightful places in the professions. Zonta's first club was chartered in Buffalo, New York on November 8, 1919. By 1920, a confederation of nine Zonta clubs had formed with 600 members.

🎉 Congratulations to our very own Renée Coppock on her election as Vice President of Zonta International!

🌍👣 This , Zonta International calls on governments, the private sector, civil society, and every day citizens to Step Forward for Equality—because climate action can no longer be delayed, diluted or discussed without those most affected: women and girls, and the women leaders who must sit at every decision-making table where climate priorities are set.

From rising displacement to reduced access to essential services, the impacts are clear. The most effective action we can take today is to:
đź’› Raise awareness
đź’› Educate our communities
đź’› Step forward for equality

For more than 100 years, Zonta International has advanced women’s rights, and today on Earth Day 2026, we raise our voices a little higher.

👣 Every step matters. Climate justice is gender justice, and the time to act is now. Read the full statement here: https://bit.ly/4tohhEv

Congratulations to Karlie Heaney, recipient of the Zonta Club of Billings Young Women In Leadership Award!
Karlie is a 4.0+ GPA student at Billings Senior High who consistently goes above and beyond. She's a Student Council officer, National Honors Society leader, and multi-sport athlete — all while tutoring peers and volunteering at Billings Clinic and Intermountain Health.
What stands out most is her initiative. After volunteering at a middle school Leadership Summit, Karlie created Glow to Grow, a mentorship program helping young girls build confidence and a positive self-image as they head to high school. That's the kind of leader she is — she sees a need and steps up.
With plans to pursue nursing, we have no doubt she'll carry that same dedication forward.
Karlie has been awarded $1,500 from the Zonta Club of Billings, with the potential to receive an additional $1,000 from Zonta District 12 and $5,000 from Zonta International. We wish her the best of luck as her application moves forward!

Each year on March 8, Zontians around the world celebrate Rose Day alongside International Women’s Day by presenting yellow roses to women who have made meaningful contributions to their communities.

This year, the Zonta Club of Billings honors three outstanding Rose Day recipients: Erin Lambert, Executive Director of the Northern Lights Family Justice Center and YWCA; Billings Councilwoman Kendra Shaw; and Councilwoman Amy Aguirre, who also serves as Executive Director of Angela's Piazza: Women's Drop-In Center. Through their leadership and dedication, these women uplift and empower others, going above and beyond to make the world a better place for women and girls.

TEEN DATING VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH
February means flowers, candy, and jewelry – heart-thumping symbols of affection. But behind the romance, 1 in 3 adolescents experiences abuse by a dating partner, and only one-third ever tell anyone.
Teen dating violence takes many forms: sexual assault, manipulation, verbal humiliation, and coercion. This is not real love.
Real love never makes someone question their worth or safety. It is built on respect – listening, trust, and growth. Respect is non-negotiable.
February is also Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. Know the warning signs: continual insults, extreme jealousy, possessiveness, controlling behavior, and privacy violations.
Don't look away. Talk to the teens in your life about what love should – and shouldn't – look like. They shouldn't have to learn the hard way.
