❤️🚒 A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Firefighters 🚒❤️
To every firefighter in our community and surrounding fire departments who is out there fighting fires in this 100+ degree heat—THANK YOU.
While many of us are trying to stay cool indoors, you are answering calls, working long hours, and putting yourselves in dangerous conditions to protect our homes, families, land, livestock, and communities.
We often don’t realize just how difficult it is to fight fire in these temperatures. After spending time in the heat, firefighters still have to put on heavy turnout gear, gloves, helmets, boots, and all of their protective equipment before stepping into an already extremely hot environment. That gear is necessary to keep you safe, but it also makes an incredibly difficult job even hotter and more exhausting.
And to our communities—please help our firefighters by helping prevent fires before they start.
With the extreme heat, dry conditions, and drought, something as ordinary as mowing, welding, grinding, using equipment, burning, or even a small spark can cause a fire to erupt in a matter of moments.
Before doing any outdoor work, take a moment to look around, know the conditions, and ask yourself if what you’re doing could create a spark or enough heat to start a fire. A few extra minutes of caution could save thousands of acres, homes, livestock, and most importantly, lives.
To every firefighter—local, neighboring, and from departments across the surrounding communities—thank you for showing up when you’re needed most. Thank you for leaving your families, stepping into the heat, and putting yourselves in harm’s way for people you may not even know.
Your sacrifice does not go unnoticed. ❤️
Stay safe. Stay hydrated. Watch out for your brothers and sisters. And please, help us prevent fires before they start.
