Join us on Sundays this month, for free one-hour guided kayak tour of Davis Bayou. Rangers will provide an interpretive program of the marsh ecosystem and its wildlife as you paddle.

MFC Relaunches the Mississippi Champion Tree Registry! 🌳

We're thrilled to announce the relaunch of our Champion Tree Program! Help us recognize, document, and celebrate the largest and most remarkable trees across our state.

Whether it towers in your backyard, a local park, or along a roadside, exceptional trees are all around Mississippi waiting to be discovered.

Anyone can nominate a tree during the annual nomination window, September-February.

Both native and naturalized species (plus exceptional non-natives at discretion) are eligible.

Required Measurements:
Trunk Circumference (inches at 4.5 feet high)
Total Height (feet)
Average Crown Spread (feet)

Scoring Formula: Circumference (in) + Height (ft) + 1/4 Average Crown Spread (ft) = Total Points

If you have attended any GCBC events this year, certainly you have noticed many cyclists wearing last year's Southern Magnolia 100 jersey. Maybe you wondered how to get a jersey for yourself. Let me say the fabric is the best in this crazy summer heat.

Beginning August 29, the next 3 cyclists who register for the 18th Annual Southen Magnolia 100 will recieve a Southern Magnolia jersey from last year! The jerseys are RACE CUT thus SUPER LEAN! If you happen to be one of the lucky 3 people, go 2 (yes 2) sizes up.

Remember the store for hats and shirts will close at 11:59pm Tuesday, September 1.
