2nd Annual EBSC Pottery Throwdown — Event Recap

On Thursday night, May 7, the East Biloxi Senior Center held its 2nd Annual Pottery Throwdown at the Biloxi Visitors Center. This six‑week hand‑building pottery competition highlights the creativity, skill, and dedication of our Senior Artisans.

The East Biloxi Senior Center hit the road today for a fun little outing to Ocean Springs! Our crew enjoyed browsing the shops and stocking up on old‑school favorites like circus peanuts, long johns, and Neccos. Lunch at The Lady May’s was delicious, and of course we couldn’t leave without sweet treats and ice cream from Kilwins.

We even stopped by the Gulf Islands National Seashore Visitor Center for a short movie and a bit of local history.

A day full of fun, fellowship, laughter, and good company — both new friends and old.

🌟 In Loving Memory of Our Director, Sara Taranto Miller 🌟

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Director of the East Biloxi Senior Center, Sara Taranto Miller. For the past ten years, Sara led our center with courage, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to serving others. She was a light in our community—always ready with a helping hand, a kind word, and a heart full of service.

Sara’s legacy lives on in every life she touched. She will be deeply missed by all of us.

📅 Visitation: Friday, March 20, 2026 | 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM
⛪ Services: 11:00 AM
📍 Location: Saint Michael’s
🎉 Celebration of Life: Immediately following at the D’Iberville Civic Center

In honor of Sara and to allow our staff and community to attend services, the East Biloxi Senior Center will be closed on Friday.

We started the day with a great exercise class then “ Corn Beef” bingo celebrating St Patrick’s Day prizes were the fixin’s for a Corn beef cabbage dinner! Rhonda with St Joseph Hospice provided the prizes and called bingo!

Last week we made a St Patrick small canvas! Everyone made this special! Craft Class is always fun!!
