It has been a difficult week as our community mourns the loss of several dedicated public servants and a young life taken far too soon. The Endicott Fire Department extends its deepest condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of Retired Binghamton Fire Department Lieutenant and Five Mile Point Fire Company past Chief/President Jim Snyder, Binghamton Police Department Officer Bradley C**n, Chenango Ambulance Services, Inc. Life Member Paul Muller, Maine-Endwell Central School District student Cameron Jones, and Rochester Fire Fighters Local 1071 Lieutenant John Joseph. They are gone but will never be forgotten.

To our incredible EMS family,

During EMS Week, we want to take a moment to recognize the heart, strength, and sacrifice each of you brings every single day.

To all of our PARAMEDICS, EMTs, DISPATCHERS, and fellow crews at every station — thank you. Thank you for answering the call at all hours of the day and night. Thank you for showing compassion in moments of fear, calm in moments of chaos, and courage when seconds truly matter.

Every shift, you willingly put yourselves on the line for complete strangers. You walk into uncertainty, danger, trauma, and heartbreak so others can have hope in their darkest moments. While most people are running away from crisis, you are the ones running toward it without hesitation.

The sacrifices you make do not go unnoticed. The missed holidays, sleepless nights, long shifts, emotional exhaustion, and time away from your loved ones are all part of the quiet burden you carry in service to others. You carry the weight of difficult calls long after the sirens stop, yet you continue to show up with strength, compassion, and professionalism.

This job is more than a career — it is a family. A family bonded by sacrifice, resilience, trust, and an unwavering commitment to protecting and caring for others, no matter the cost. Through the toughest calls and longest nights, you continue to have each other’s backs, support one another, and stand together as one team.

Because of all of you, lives are saved.
Because of all of you, people are given hope.
Because of all of you, our communities are stronger and safer.

Thank you for your selflessness, your bravery, and the sacrifices you make every single day. We see the hard work, the emotional toll, and the risks you take — and we are endlessly grateful.

Happy EMS Week to all of our PARAMEDICS, EMTs, DISPATCHERS, and fellow stations. Stay safe, continue to have each other’s backs, watch out for one another, and thank you for always answering the call. 💙🚑
