DISTURBANCE AT SOUTHSIDE HOUSING COMPLEX - BPD ARRESTS ONE MALE & RECOVERS FIREARM
On June 10th, 2026, at approximately 9:15 AM the Binghamton Police Patrol Division was called to 60 Saratoga Avenue in the City of Binghamton, Saratoga Terrace, for a report of a disturbance in which a male displayed a handgun. Upon arrival, it was quickly determined that there were no indications of shots being fired and there were no reported injuries.
A male suspect was developed and shortly thereafter, this male was observed in the area by Officers on scene. The suspect fled from Officers on foot and after a short foot pursuit, was taken into custody. This male was identified as Dontae S. Bradshaw, a 28-year-old male of Binghamton, NY.
Investigators with the Binghamton Police Detective Bureau assisted the Patrol Division on scene. Through investigation, it was determined that Bradshaw had violated a Court Order of Protection and after the disturbance, discarded a backpack at an apartment within the complex. This discarded property was located by Officers on scene.
Binghamton Police Investigators applied for and were granted a search warrant to search the contents of the recovered backpack. Inside of the backpack, Investigators located a loaded 9mm Springfield handgun with a large capacity magazine.
Bradshaw was charged with the following:
-Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree, a Class C Felony
-Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree (2 counts), Class D Felonies
-Criminal Possession of a Firearm, a Class E Felony
-Criminal Contempt in the 2nd degree, a Class A Misdemeanor
-Criminal Tampering in the 3rd degree, a Class B Misdemeanor
On June 11th, 2026, Bradshaw was arraigned in Binghamton City Court and remanded to the custody of the Broome County Correctional Facility.
