We did it, we won! Jason Garnar is Broome County's new County Executive! Student turnout this year broke records, around 2700 of 2900 on-campus registered voters casted their ballots and helped lead our candidate to victory. However, the work isn't over. Now is the time for us to build coalitions between even more students and more elected officials to promote real change that fits the needs of everyone in Broome County.

We have developed a platform dedicated to the needs of students of Binghamton University that local Broome County Executive candidate Jason Garnar endorses! This is the first ever partnership between university students and a local politician, who has dedicated himself to student engagement and expanding cooperation between the campuses and the community. Support Jason Garnar between 6am- 9pm today in the Mandela Room in University Union or your respective polling locations off-campus. Every voice matters, every vote matters. Binghamton is your home, take a stand for what happens to it!

BU students have come together to fight for their voices in the political landscape. We have crowdsourced results from over 600 student opinion surveys we conducted, and, for the first time, have published an official report on what issues on and off-campus matter to students as well as policy proposals to local government to facilitate change WE need to see. The Binghamton Blueprint 2016, written by Roosevelt at Binghamton University and Bing for Broome, represents the voices of the students, who feel like their opinion has no weight in local politics or feel they have no stake in Broome County.

We did it! Our rally was a success, our candidate Jason Garnar was officially introduced to Binghamton University, the campus' first ever Student Platform was released, and our voices heard! Thank you so much to everyone who made it to the event and those whose support encouraged us to get this far and to continue fighting for everyone's voices!

The team had an intense day yesterday, surveying students throughout campus and tabling in Bartle library. Our goal was to reach a total of 635 surveys by the end of the semester...though not quite there, we still managed to get 568!!! Great job team; we had an amazing year!
