Grilling and BBQ Safety 🍽️

Memorial Day kicks off the summer grilling season, but backyard barbecues carry unique fire and burn risks. Following these safe practices helps protect your family and home during the warmer months.

🔥 Establish a Safe Zone: Keep grills at least 10 feet away from your home, deck railings, and overhanging branches.
🔥 Check for Leaks: For gas grills, inspect the propane tank hose for leaks before the first use of the season. Apply a light soap-and-water solution to the hose; bubbles indicate a leak.
🔥 Supervise Use: Never leave a lit grill unattended. Establish a three-foot "kid-free zone" to keep children and pets safe from accidental burns.
🔥 Charcoal Disposal: Allow the coals to cool completely before disposing of them. Always use a metal container and never place it in plastic bins or near combustibles.
🔥 Emergency Readiness: Keep a fire extinguisher, sand, or a hose nearby. Remember: never use water to extinguish a grease fire.

To All Mothers, Near and Far,

The Deployment Support Command extends our warmest and most heartfelt Mother’s Day greetings to every mother who has touched our lives and our mission.

To the mothers who stand beside us, thank you. Your unwavering love, endless sacrifices, and quiet strength serve as the foundation upon which our lives are built. You inspire us, lift us, and make our world a better place in ways that words can scarcely capture.

We hold close in our hearts the soldiers and civilians who carry the tender ache of celebrating this day without their mothers. Whether through distance, deployment, or loss, we recognize that Mother’s Day can bring both joy and grief. Please know that you are not alone. Our thoughts, gratitude, and deepest compassion remain with you today and always.

To every mother, those celebrated loudly and those honored quietly in someone’s heart, you are seen, you are cherished, and you are deeply appreciated.

With Heartfelt Gratitude and Respect,
Deployment Support Command
