From our trauma-informed, compassion-focused Community Table to yours 🤍
For the past three weeks, we’ve gathered around The Purpose of War: What Conflict Reveals in the Body, Systems, and History by Dr. Elizabeth Brewer, and the conversation moved through history, memory, nervous systems, grief, resilience, and the quiet wars people carry inside themselves.
Together, we explored:
• the battles that came before us
• the battles within us
• and the ways our bodies remember conflict
Dr. Brewer’s work helped us better understand our nervous systems, body memory, chronic stress, and the ways survival responses can shape our health, relationships, and healing. Around the table, people reflected on fight, flight, freeze, fawn, grief, adulthood, identity, and what it means to stay present with ourselves and one another.
Community Table continues to remind us that healing rarely happens through performance or perfection. More often, it happens slowly: in circles, in honesty, in being witnessed, in learning the language of our own bodies, and in discovering we are not alone at the table. 🕯️
