The Farnborough International Airshow brings together aerospace and defense leaders from around the world, making it an important opportunity to build relationships and showcase what Alabama has to offer.

The Birmingham Business Alliance was proud to join the Alabama Department of Commerce and partners from across the state, including the City of Birmingham, Jefferson County Commission and Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport, to represent the Birmingham region.

While Mobile and Huntsville are home to many of Alabama's largest aerospace and defense employers, Birmingham plays an important role in supporting the industry's continued growth through advanced manufacturing, engineering talent, logistics and a strong business community.

We're grateful to companies like Brasfield & Gorrie and O'Neal Industries, along with Birmingham Business Alliance Board Chair Nick Willis, for helping represent our region and demonstrate the strength of Birmingham's business community.

Yesterday, the Birmingham Business Alliance convened Jefferson County superintendents for an important conversation about one of our region's greatest priorities: preparing students for the opportunities of tomorrow.

While each school system serves its own community, the future workforce is a regional responsibility. By bringing education leaders together, we created space to discuss shared challenges, exchange ideas and explore opportunities for stronger collaboration between K-12 education and the business community.

The conversation reinforced what we know to be true: when educators, employers and community leaders work together, students are better prepared for successful careers, businesses have access to stronger talent pipelines, and our entire region is better positioned for long-term growth.

Thank you to each superintendent for your leadership and your commitment to shaping the future of Jefferson County. We look forward to continuing these conversations and strengthening the partnerships that help move our region forward.
