We are excited and honored to see The Nook featured in “The 99: How a Historic Birmingham Fire Station Became a Community Library.” ❤️

Nearly 100 years later, this historic space continues to serve the community—not with fire trucks and fire hoses, but with books, learning, creativity, connection, and opportunity. 📖✨

From its days as a fire station to its transformation into a beloved community library, The Nook continues to make history while helping our community write its next chapter. 🥰

We are proud to be part of the story and even prouder to serve the Inglenook community!

The Inglenook Branch Library in Birmingham, originally a fire station built in 1927, was saved from demolition and transformed into a vital community resource offering books, technology, and services.

We’ve been busy reading, creating, crafting, and having fun! 📚🎨💕

📖 Reading Hour — We took some time to slow down, open a good book, and enjoy the wonderful world of reading! There’s nothing like getting lost in a great story. 📚✨

🎨 Crafty Tuesday — Our crafters brought their creativity to life with a fun hands-on activity! ✂️✨

📿 Create Your Own Bracelet – Wednesday — Participants designed their own unique bracelets by choosing their favorite colors, beads, and styles. Creativity was definitely on display! 💜🩷💙

At The Nook, there’s always something happening! Stop by, get creative, discover a great book, and make some memories with us! 🥰📚✨

Celebrate the talent and creativity of Alabama authors as you browse books, connect with local writers, and discover new stories from across our community.

We're also excited to feature special presentations from:

• Hope Fortenberry of Rocky Heights Print & Binding, who will share insights into the self-publishing journey and the book printing process.

• Yogi Dada, spiritual teacher, author, and community leader, who will offer inspiration drawn from his experiences as a writer and community advocate.
