Therapeutic Foster Parent Certified 🙌🏽

Thanks to Gateway, I have had the opportunity to be a therapeutic foster parent to more than 3 children, since 2015.

I have not had a child in my home since March of 2021. Since, I’ve started my nonprofit, The Gatherings MNO Group mentoring teenage girls, I’ve decided to start fostering again 🙏🏽

👉🏽🎉🥳Last night, I completed a 10 week training and now I am once again certified to help nurture, guide, support and give a home to a child in need.

I am so excited about the journey to come and helping make a difference in my next foster child’s life.

Support 2022 Changemaker, Maeci Walker, by purchasing your ticket + giving in her honor at Unleashed: A Philanthroparty, Presented by EBSCO! 👉

Every November, time is set aside to focus special attention on the needs of vulnerable children - orphans and those in need of adoption, foster care or other special services. Tonight's Outreach Wednesday looks at the issues facing these children and what we can do to help support them. Our session will feature guests from Agape of Central Alabama , Gateway and Lifeline Children's Services . We'll also get a unique perspective from a Homewood family active in fostering children.
