Derby French students ordering French pastries and drinks!

Courtney Parkinson, French teacher at Derby middle school, orchestrated a trip for the 8th grade French students to visit Cannelle, a local French bakery in Birmingham. Prior to the trip, in class, students learned how to order a drink and food in French. The class looked at the menu and learned about a variety of French pastries and drinks. At Cannelle, 8th grade students ordered food and drinks and ate together at the restaurant. This trip is to celebrate their hard work taking French in 6th, 7th and 8th grade. By taking French during middle school, these students can earn one-year World Language credit for the high school level. Derby Middle School is so proud of their French language students!
