If you are looking to spend time with people who don’t live with you, outdoors is the safer choice. COVID-19 spreads more easily indoors than outdoors. You are less likely to be exposed to COVID-19 when you:
• Attend outdoor activities.
• Stay at least 6 feet apart.
• Limit the amount of time spent with people who don’t live with you.

I would give a zero if I could! This is the absolute WORST utility BWW I have ever encountered in my life! I can’t believe that they are getting away with what they do to their customers and I wish to god I would of done better research before moving to Jefferson county! THEIR water lines have been leaking in our yard since last June and that’s when we noticed it.. it’s been a complete NIGHTMARE!! We have called, gone there, emailed, wrote on their website.. they have come out here five times and each time sending someone new that literally knows nothing of what’s been going on. At one point they came here with big machines and tore up my yard.. yard is so wet that their machine got stuck. They were covered with mud from head to toe! After doing this, they said they needed to send a different department out because the job was too big for them. They didn’t come back to fix.. my yard is still torn up FOR MONTHS..STILL have their cones in my yard. Can’t work on that part of the yard because not even driving lawn can get over it... it’s leaking in our septic system and we have the smell of septic in our yard. We keep calling back and even speaking to manager- MICHAEL JOHNSON and he gives excuses when he does FINALLY call back. They sent someone this morning again and AGAIN he knows nothing and then has the nerve to say his little detector can’t find a leak!! As he’s walking over the ground torn up with their cones over it! So miraculously it’s fixed itself!! I would laugh right now if I weren’t so mad. They barely check our meter correctly or don’t come at all so they send duplicate bills (exact bill) that I paid prior months. What a joke this company is! This has been going on for over six months now and ABSOLUTELY nothing has been done to fix it except tear up my yard!! After reading these reviews, I can see that I’m not the only one they are doing this to.. this has to be escalated to someone in power to make this company do their job. We are forced to pay a company that laughs at their customers and pretty much says..Ohhh well, what are you going to do about it!! If my ground softens anymore, I could literally have trees coming down on my house and let’s not forget the damage it is doing to my septic system.. This is insane!

This says why I have been writing letters to ask for ammonia free drinking water for children in the Birmingham and Huntsville Alabama areas, and the unborn, who do not have water filters on their homes, at their schools and at restaurants, etc. Water utilities add ammonia because it is cheap. Erin Brockovich said it causes lead in the water. 🙏💙🙏 Please Alabama citizens tell Birmingham and Huntsville to stop adding ammonia to the drinking water. Tell them it causes lead in the water. 🙏💙🙏
Huntsville and Birmingham Alabama Need "One Pissed Off Mama" To Fight For Ammonia Free Drinking Water Recently, I had a drinking water filter go bad and suddenly the water was horrible tasting. I asked a friend and she said other people had also noticed it being bad tasting. I then researched and learned that Birmingham Water Works adds chloramine, which is ammonia and chlorine. It is the cheaper way to go, since it lasts much longer in the water than the better performing chlorine. Chloramine is supposed to boil off in an hour, but when I tried it, it never changed the horrible taste of the water. Chlorine boils off in 3.5 minutes and it evaporates out of water in around four days. Chloramine lasts much longer and that is why it is cheaper. Erin Brockovich, in a PBS Newshour interview on November 22, 2020, said adding ammonia to drinking water causes lead in the water. I know water mains are supposed to be routinely flushed out when chloramine is added because it does a poor job compared to chlorine alone, but I have lived in my home for almost ten years and the mains have never been flushed. My water company had to do it in the Chicago area suburb where I lived some years ago. It was very noticeable when they did it. Chloramine has a lot of negative effects on human and animal health per CCAC (Citizen’s Concerned About Chloramines). The harsh and toxic chemical cocktail can adversely affect the immune system, respiratory system, skin, digestive and gastric, and kidney and blood. I have serious concerns about children drinking it at school, and I suspect that anytime we eat out at a restaurant it is in the food and produce was saturated with it in preparation. We have to be eating it in all kinds of sources. Ms. Brockovich said it usually takes "one pissed off mama" to become active and to be able to convince water utility companies to stop adding ammonia to drinking water. Ms. Brockovich said they call her for help. She wrote about it in her book, Superman's Not Coming. I am praying for one, or more, pissed off mama’s to become active in Birmingham and Huntsville, and to convince utilities to stop adding ammonia to drinking water. It takes a good pissed off mama who cares about everyone’s children and who rally’s “we the people" to do something to fight the injustice of water utilities going cheap adding ammonia to the drinking water. +++ I will continue posting this to draw attention to this terrible problem in Birmingham area and Huntsville. This is my plea to stop adding ammonia and to clean up the water. Why have you not flushed mains? Why go cheap and toxic with drinking water? Poor families do not have good filters in their homes, and I doubt if schools and restaurants have them, too. So far the wealthy families do not care about them, just like Birmingham Water Works does not care and you go cheap with toxic chloramine. Why don't you file bankruptcy, come out of that insane amount of debt, and stop putting ammonia in the drinking water? Please give poor families, schools, restaurants, etc. ammonia and lead free water. Birmingham visitors better bring their gun and a bottle of water. Is that the way you really want people to recognize Birmingham? Please stop adding ammonia and use only chlorine and flush out all the mains. Erin Brockovich says it causes lead to be in the water. Please go back to only adding chlorine to the water.
When will water pressure be restored on University Park Drive in Homewood?
I have had my frustrations with BWW in the past, but I have to shout out Antonio McWillie who represented them so well when he came to our home to check for a leak. He was kind, polite, very knowledgeable, and THOROUGH! If BWW can get more folks that care like he does about helping his customers they would be in great shape! Thanks Tony!
I've had a leak outside my house between the sidewalk and the street for close to four weeks. I've called numerous times and I believe my next-door neighbor has called, also. There have been workers out but nothing has been done. This morning I was attempting to leave and there was a BWWB large utility truck with a trailer blocking my drive and my garbage pick-up. I asked one of the workers to move his truck and his response was he didn't have to fix the leak, he'd just leave. Which he did. His name was, Hayden. He was short, stocky, dirty blonde hair and a beard. He was rude and condescending. He may be an essential worker but he certainly is NOT a hero. BWWB has been complaining about being broke yet they've left a leak that's been reported for about 4 weeks and when they do send someone out to fix it he is the type of worker that couldn't take the time to move his truck a few feet or explain to me why he couldn't. It's a sad day for our community when workers refuse to do their jobs. Shame on you, Hayden, for being the type of worker that gives the rest a bad name. Now BWWB removed my post!! Georgia Smith Slade
