October is Residents' Rights Month! Residents in long-term care have rights and the Ombudsman program works all year long to ensure those rights are protected. Residents, for example, have the right to privacy and the right to open their own mail. They have the right to be notified of any changes to their room or charges for their stay in long-term care. For a complete list of residents' rights, please click the link below. If you feel your rights or the rights of a loved one have been violated, call the Ombudsman for help at 1-800-AGE-LINE.
Women United Wednesday is back as an in-person event, which launched a three-part series titled “State of Our Kids” on August 31st. Members enjoyed lunch while participating in a discussion centered on post-COVID learning loss in our schools led by a panel of education experts. National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated in the United States from September 15 to October 15 to honor and celebrate the contributions of Hispanic Americans and how they have infused their heritage into the Unite States’ rich history and culture.
