The Ombudsman program is gearing up to serve our boarding home residents this Christmas through our Home Sweet Home donation drive! October is Residents' Rights Month! Residents in long-term care have rights and the Ombudsman program works all year long to ensure those rights are protected. Residents, for example, have the right to privacy and the right to open their own mail. They have the right to be notified of any changes to their room or charges for their stay in long-term care. For many years our LINCPoint Adult program has had a choir, this year, because of the generosity of donors and a grant, we were able to create an ensemble and spread joy to the United Way of Central Alabama, Goodwyn Mills Cawood, Protective Life, the City of Birmingham Government, Brasfield & Gorrie, Encompass Health, Red Mountain Theatre, Hibbett Sports, Cobbs Allen, and more. We hope you enjoy the sounds of the season from a recent performance for our board of directors.

Yesterday I spent time with the United Way of Central Alabama's leadership team discussing the value of Workplace Relationships. Always a joy to work with them. I forgot to take pictures during the training, but my friends SP Nesbitt and Maggie McDonald said that I was cute and did an excellent job!!!
We were honored to share a Coke with United Way of Central Alabama's 2022 class of loaned executives at a recent luncheon at the American Cancer Society. Brendan Moore, Coca-Cola UNITED director of business development, eCommerce, and chair of the company's United Way campaign, offered brief remarks.

Every year, United Way asks local organizations to select one or more of their valued employees to participate in the Loaned Executive Program for a 13-week working session. Participants develop and implement company campaigns by working with top management and employee campaign coordinators.
