MACC Air Support Unit
The Jefferson County Metro Area Crime Center is excited to announce that we now have a fully functional law enforcement helicopter. It is a Airbus AStar B3, fully equipped with all the technology needed to capture fugitives, follow fleeing vehicles, locate missing children or elderly citizens.
While we have been training with the helicopter for several weeks, we captured our first offender today in the Mount Olive area. This Air Support Unit is available to all of our MACC law enforcement partners. Video of the first capture is imbedded below. We look forward to using this technology to protect and serve the citizens of the Metro Area!
