Avondale Library - Birmingham Public Library System

Avondale Library - Birmingham Public Library System Avondale Regional Library is part of the Birmingham Alabama Public Library system At the turn of the 20th century, Andrew Carnegie, the industrialist and philanthropist, donated $10,000 to the city of Avondale to build a library.
(25)

The beautiful building lasted 50 years, at which time the City of Birmingham and the library board recognized the need for a new building. The new library was built in 1961 complete with air-conditioning and increased space. In 1982, the city used bonds funds for an expansion and renovation that transformed Avondale into a regional branch for the southern area of the city. In 2005, the library closed again for renovations and refurbishing. For nearly one hundred years, the Avondale Regional Library has served the Birmingham community. In this new millennium, the staff, the board and the administration are committed to expanding and improving this library’s excellent resources and services.

Thank you Avondale Library for the wonderful Patriotic pack of goodies. My grandson, Marshall, took his to Mobile and liked it so much. We are enjoying many, many books together this summer even though it's usually via FaceTime, thanks to the books you've put together, the activities, and treasures in each bag!

One of my very favorite photos! The Floyd Family will always cherish their time at Story time with Mrs. Eve
I need to join the winter reading challenge, it seems like that would help me get some reading done! I have been watching a lot of films lately, and a film II saw that I really liked is called Empathy, Inc. the film is a sci-fi thriller. In the film, there is a new technology called XVR (Extreme Virtual Reality) and the repercussions of this technology are vast. the situation gets dire as main character Joel (Zack Robidas) tries to overcome the evil use of the technology in the film. The film can be streamed on VOD!
Could not agree more! ❤️
Thanks Avondale Library for enriching these children's lives beyond checking out books and videos - you change lives!
We could not be more grateful for Mrs. Eve and all she has taught Ruth over the past almost TWO years! She sure will miss you while she’s in 4K this year, but fortunately for Mama, little sister will still be participating in the fall 😊. Thank you Eve Jenkins Parker!!
