We’re kicking off @Birmingham Public Library’s Black History Month programs with a virtual interview with Tony Christon-Walker, director of Prevention and Community Partnerships at AIDS Alabama and author of "Fatherhood: Walking in Truth."

Pre-recorded last August as a conversation between friends, Inman and Christon-Walker discuss “Fatherhood,” a fictional account based on his real-life experiences as a Black, gay man who grew up in the 1970s and 1980s in Alabama. The first in a trilogy, the novel also tackles topics such as adolescence, dating, parenthood, and self-discovery. The interview also includes Christon-Walker’s advice for aspiring writers, connecting during 2021, and an update on AIDS Alabama and how others can help the organization during this time.

Christon-Walker donated two copies to the Avondale Library.

I need to join the winter reading challenge, it seems like that would help me get some reading done! I have been watching a lot of films lately, and a film II saw that I really liked is called Empathy, Inc. the film is a sci-fi thriller. In the film, there is a new technology called XVR (Extreme Virtual Reality) and the repercussions of this technology are vast. the situation gets dire as main character Joel (Zack Robidas) tries to overcome the evil use of the technology in the film. The film can be streamed on VOD!
