Markus Snowden Pelham City Council Hey y’all, I’m Markus Snowden. I grew up down in Louisiana (Duck Dynasty country) and have called Pelham home for almost three decades now.

Pelham resident for nearly 30 years • Engineer & project manager • Running for City Council Place 4 • Focused on fiscal responsibility, public safety, and strong schools This city has given me so much. It’s where my family put down roots, where I’ve made lifelong friends, and where I want to see the next generation thrive. I’ve spent my career in engineering and construction, managing big projects

and making sure teams work together to get the job done right and on budget. I want to bring that same common-sense approach to the City Council: keeping Pelham fiscally responsible, supporting all of the city’s departments including our police and fire departments, investing in our schools, and making sure our growth works for everyone all the while maintaining the values that make our home place special. I care about people, I listen, and I work hard to do what’s right. On September 23rd, I’d be honored to earn your vote for Pelham City Council Place 4.

Pelham fans, get ready for the upcoming football season with the 2026 Shelby County Football magazine, included in this weekend's Shelby County Reporter. It features previews, breakdowns, rosters, predictions and more for the Panthers as well as each team in Shelby County and a feature on Pelham receiver Marcus Arnold.

Our staff will distribute a Pelham Edition cover featuring quarterback Dylan Smith for free at the season opener or at our Columbiana office. The general edition, which features Thompson quarterback Trent Seaborn on the cover, is available this weekend for $1 at your newsstand, by stopping by our office or by mail when you call 205-669-3131 and ask for Mary Jo.

🚧 PAVING UPDATE

Work on Pelham’s annual street resurfacing project continues Tuesday, August 4.

Crews are scheduled to:

• Begin milling and patching on Kelly Drive
• Pave Rolling Hills Drive and Rolling Rock Trail

Please do not park vehicles on these streets while work is underway. Drivers should use caution and expect temporary delays in the work areas.
