North Shelby Library District Year in Review. Slides of the statistical highlights of our year.
Our bird walk for tomorrow has been cancelled! Rain is in the forecast. We have rescheduled for Tuesday, May 3rd at 9 am. Meet in front of the library. Call the library at 991-1660 to find out more.
This year's Summer Reading theme is "Tails and Tales." We thought it would be fun to feature a pet from Mt Laurel and North Shelby's staff on Facebook each Friday. Today's pets are Patches the cat and Melvin the crested gecko. Patches clearly wants to be friends, but Melvin seems a little hesitant. They belong to Emily who works at Mt Laurel Library.

Our Get Yeti to Read! challenge has ended. Who will win the $25 Amazon gift card?
Look what popped up on our photo memories. On this day, January 9, 2014 we broke ground for our library building! Friends and dignitaries were in attendance for this special day.
The book of the week for this Veteran's Day is 'Beyond Valor: A World War II Story of Extraordinary Heroism, Sacrificial Love, and a Race against Time'. The main character of this new book is from right here in Alabama! When a bomb detonated inside their B-29, Staff Sergeant Henry E. “Red” Erwin absorbed the blast of burning phosphorus yet managed to throw overboard the still-flaming bomb, before collapsing from the third-degree burns over much of his body. This is one of those amazing 'truth is stranger than fiction' books. Call if you'd like to check it out!
