Creativity came together piece by piece at the library!

On August 14, 2026, our adult crafters tried their hands at making beautiful Glass Mosaic Coasters!

Using square bamboo coasters, colorful glass tiles, and grout, participants arranged their own mosaic patterns before turning them into functional works of art. Some followed our sample design, while others let their creativity take the lead and created patterns all their own!

It was a fun afternoon of color, creativity, and crafting—and we loved seeing how unique each finished coaster turned out.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, and we hope you’re enjoying your handmade mosaics at home!

Four in a row—and plenty of fun at the library! Our young patrons enjoyed friendly games of Connect 4 while practicing strategy, problem-solving, patience, and good sportsmanship. We love seeing kids connect, learn, and have fun together at the library!

Building skills were powered up at the Powderly Branch Library during “Welcome to the World of Mecha Building: Intro to Gunpla!”

The kids were introduced to Gunpla figures and listened to a presentation explaining how the detailed model kits are assembled. Then it was their turn to build! Using LEGO bricks and KEVA planks, participants practiced basic building techniques and explored how different structures come together.

It was a fun, hands-on introduction to creativity, construction, and the exciting world of Gunpla!

Crafts, Coffee & Classic Cinema!

On July 31, adults at the Powderly Branch Library enjoyed a relaxing afternoon of creativity and classic cinema! Attendees crafted beautiful faux rose lanterns while watching *Charade*, starring Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn. Coffee, popcorn, and light refreshments made the afternoon even more enjoyable as everyone crafted, socialized, and settled in for a little mystery and romance.
