The Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to brightening the holidays for kids whose mothers are incarcerated. This year, Operation Merry Christmas will ensure that 126 children receive gifts on behalf of their moms. This incredible effort wouldn’t be possible without the collaboration between the JCSO, Congresswoman Terri Sewell, US UNITED, Kroger, and Refresh Family Church.

It’s truly uplifting to see our community come together to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. Let’s keep the spirit of giving alive and support one another this holiday season!

Have you signed your child up for our LEAP Program?

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is thrilled to announce the launch of our first-ever youth sports initiative: the Law Enforcement Athletic Partnership! This program is designed to foster positive relationships between our youth and law enforcement, all while having fun and staying active.

Registration is now open! If you have a child who would benefit from this exciting opportunity, call us at 205-659-3488 or visit jeffcoleap.com to secure a spot. We can’t wait to see all the young athletes when the season kicks off on January 11th.

Cyber Monday is here, and that means a flood of emails promising amazing deals. While it’s tempting to click on those irresistible offers, we at the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office want to remind you to be extra cautious. Phishing emails are everywhere, and scammers are ready to take advantage of your shopping excitement.

Stay savvy and safe while scoring those holiday bargains. Your personal information is more valuable than any deal, so let’s keep it secure this shopping season! Happy Cyber Monday!

It’s all about bringing the community together and bridging the gap between law enforcement and the folks we serve. We know this time of year can be tough for many families, and it’s our mission to lend a helping hand wherever we can.

Thank you to our friends at Fultondale Police Department for your assistance. We truly enjoyed it!

Happy Friday, everyone! As the sheriff, I always look forward to the end of the week, not just because it’s the weekend but because it gives me a chance to interact with our younger folks. Whether it’s visiting schools or joining community events, it’s a blast chatting with the kids and teens who will soon be our leaders.

This weekend, take some time to connect with the younger generation. Ask them what they care about, share some stories, and most importantly, let them know their voices matter.
