🎉 One of District 3’s most cherished traditions is back!

For 28 years, the St. Elias Food & Cultural Festival has brought our community together to celebrate culture, family, and incredible food right here in District 3. From the energy of traditional Lebanese dancing to the aroma of fresh, homemade dishes like kibbeh, grape leaves, and baklava, this festival is truly something special.

This is more than just a festival, it’s a celebration of heritage, community, and connection. For nearly three decades, St. Elias has opened its doors to Birmingham, sharing its rich culture while also giving back to charities and strengthening our city.

I’m proud to have this incredible event in District 3, and I encourage everyone to come out, bring your family, and experience it for yourself.

It was truly an honor to bring opening remarks at the Holi Celebration Festival of Colors performances at the Birmingham Museum of Art, and to help kick off the color throw at City Walk Birmingham.

Holi is a powerful celebration of joy, renewal, and the beauty of community, and that spirit was on full display. From the vibrant performances to the unforgettable moment of the color throw, this event brought people together from across our city in such a meaningful way.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this celebration possible and to all who came out to share in this incredible display of culture and connection. Birmingham is stronger and brighter because of moments like these.

Thank you to Sanjay Singh for inviting me!

Thank you to HICA for inviting me to say a few words on yesterday at the Latino Opportunity Summit.

It was truly an honor to be in the room with so many leaders, advocates, and community members who are deeply committed to expanding opportunity and strengthening our city. These conversations matter, and they play a critical role in ensuring that every resident has access to the resources, support, and pathways they need to thrive.

I’m grateful for HICA’s leadership and their continued work uplifting Birmingham’s Latino community. I look forward to continuing this partnership as we work together to build a more inclusive and equitable future for all.

At our recent Town Hall, one message came through loud and clear: infrastructure is the top priority for District 3 residents.

We hear you—and we’re getting to work.

As you continue reporting concerns through 311, I’m asking you to share that information directly with our office as well. Whether it’s sidewalks, streets, lighting, or other infrastructure issues, your input helps us identify patterns, prioritize needs, and advocate more effectively for our neighborhoods.

If you’ve already submitted a 311 request, please take a moment to send it to us too.

Click the link in the comments or scan the QR code to share your case.

This is how we build a stronger District 3—together.

What a great weekend at George Ward Park!

I had the pleasure of attending the 42nd Annual Southern Shootout Tournament hosted by the New South Softball League, and it was truly an incredible event. From the energy on the field to the sense of community throughout the park, this tournament continues to showcase the very best of Birmingham.

I was honored to present the League with a Resolution on behalf of the Birmingham City Council, recognizing their longstanding commitment to inclusion, community, and creating a welcoming space for all. And I even got the chance to throw out the first pitch—definitely a highlight!

Thank you to the New South Softball League for your continued impact and for bringing people together through sport. Events like this highlight the importance of keeping our parks active, well-maintained, and used in ways that bring our community together.
