Happy Firefighter Friday! 🚒🚨

The BFRS Investigation Division recently updated their professional headshots. With a little extra time between photos, they decided to have some fun and show off the personalities behind the badges.

Serving the community is serious work, but that doesn’t mean we can’t share a few smiles along the way.

Can you guess which movie inspired this photo? 🎬

Be safe, look out for one another and have an awesome weekend! ❤️

🚒 Recruit School has officially begun!

With orientation behind them, our recruits kicked off training with CPR, the foundation of emergency medical care and often the first step in saving a life.

A special thank you to our Training Officers and Advanced EMT students for helping lead today’s training and invest in the next generation of fire service professionals.

The work starts now. 💪

⚡️ Birmingham Fire & Rescue Service Safety Tip ⚡️
Safe Charging of Phones & Electronic Devices

Charging your devices seems simple but it can become a fire risk if not done safely.

🔌 Stay safe with these tips:

Only use manufacturer-approved chargers and cords
Don’t charge phones, tablets, or laptops on beds, couches, or under pillows
Avoid overloading outlets or power strips
Unplug chargers when devices are fully charged
Replace damaged or frayed cords immediately
Keep charging devices on hard, flat surfaces where heat can escape

🔥 Remember: Lithium-ion batteries can overheat if misused, increasing the risk of fire.

A few small habits can prevent a big emergency.

Stay alert. Stay safe.

🔥 Birmingham Fire & Rescue Service Safety Tip 🔥

Did you know a simple action can help save lives during a fire?

🚪 CLOSE THE DOOR BEHIND YOU

When a fire starts, closed doors can slow down the spread of flames and smoke. That extra barrier can give you and your loved ones more time to escape safely.

🛑 Remember:

• Close bedroom doors when you sleep.

•If there is a fire, close doors behind you as you exit.

•Don’t waste time, get out first, then call 911.

•Make sure smoke alarms are working in your home.

Every second counts in a fire. A closed door can make a big difference.

Stay safe, Birmingham. ♥️
