Birmingham Fire & Rescue shares in the sadness of the untimely loss of BPD Officer Marlon Moore. We offer our condolences to our Brothers & Sisters at the Birmingham Police Department and all affected by this accident. You all are in our thoughts and prayers.

It is with profound sadness that the Birmingham Police Department announces the untimely passing of Officer Marlon Moore, who tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident earlier today on Interstate 59/1st Avenue North Exit Ramp.

Officer Moore honorably served the Birmingham community with dedication, integrity, and pride since joining the department in July 2019. His loss is deeply felt across our department and among the citizens he faithfully protected.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Officer Moore’s family, friends, and colleagues during this extremely difficult time,” said Chief of Police Michael Pickett. “Officer Moore was a valued member of our BPD family, and his memory will live on through the lives he touched.”

The Birmingham Police Department has made support services available for our officers
and staff through Peer Support and Employee Assistance. We encourage anyone in
need to seek assistance during this time of mourning.

Officer Moore was assigned to Birmingham’s East Precinct. He was off duty at the time
of the accident.

We ask the community to keep Officer Moore’s family and the entire Birmingham Police
Department in your thoughts and prayers.
