The Bisbee Fire Department wants to make sure as many people know as possible, we will be doing Flow Testing of the fire hydrants around the city. We do our best to keep testing as streamline as possible but you can expect water to spill onto the streets. Please read the flyer for additional details. Between 07/09/25 and 07/10/25, the City of Bisbee Police Department has been made aware of a bear being sighted in the areas of 14th Terrace to 30th Terrace. Additional sightings have been reported near Cole Avenue and Bisbee Road.

Currently, the bear does not appear to be interacting with the public or property, and no interactions with humans have been reported. The Bisbee Police are cooperating with Arizona Game and Fish Officers as well as the United States Department of Agriculture to ensure the safety of the public and property.

If the animal is sighted, Law Enforcement encourages you to contact dispatch to report the sighting. At no time should the public approach, feed, or attempt to capture the animal. Bears should show a fear of humans, and can become extremely aggressive if cornered or trapped. Bears who are cornered, trapped, or unafraid of humans pose a significant risk of death or serious physical injury to human beings. If you are near the bear, the best course of action is to make very loud noises to scare the animal away, and immediately find a safe and secure place where you will not be harmed. Bears can, and will, kill a human.

At this time, the Bisbee Police Department and local Law Enforcement are monitoring the bear and its activities.

We are aware of the smoke in the area of Bisbee and suspect it is from the fires in Mexico as we have been patrolling smoke investigations this morning. If anyone sees smoke besides the haze, please call 911 and report it as we are still in Stage 2 Fire Restrictions.

Due to wildfire danger, the following temporary restrictions are currently in effect. Please use caution and stay safe.
