🦟 Don’t let mosquitoes put a bite on your summer!

West Nile virus can be spread to people through the bite of an infected mosquito, and there is no vaccine to prevent West Nile virus in humans. That means prevention is your best protection!

🌧️ After the monsoon rains, take a few simple steps to reduce your risk:

💧 Dump out standing water around your home where mosquitoes can breed.
🦟 Use an EPA-registered insect repellent, such as one containing DEET.
👕 Wear long sleeves and pants when mosquitoes are active.
🏕️ Treat clothing and outdoor gear with permethrin or purchase pre-treated items.

A little prevention can go a long way toward protecting you and your family from mosquito bites.

Fight the bite and enjoy the monsoon season safely!
