The Bishop Police Department with the assistance of Frontier Communications is excited to announce that Text to 911 is now operational and ready for the City of Bishop. This option will allow persons within the city of limits of Bishop to Text 911 and receive assistance from the Bishop Police Department Communications Center. If there are any additional questions related to this option, please feel free to contact the Bishop Police Department.

***Public Service Reminder***

Saturday, April 22 is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. The Bishop Police Department will be participating in the event. Anyone who has tablets, pills, capsules, patches and other solids in the form of prescription drugs can bring them to the lobby of the Bishop Police Department and place them in the appropriate receptacle. Also, to remind all citizens of Bishop and surrounding areas, we maintain a disposal receptacle in the lobby that is always accessible to the public for the disposal of prescription drugs. The Bishop Police Department encourages anyone who needs to dispose of prescription drugs to take the opportunity to do so.

El sábado 22 de abril es el Día Nacional de Devolución de Medicamentos Recetados. El Departamento de Policia de Bishop participará en el evento. Cualquier persona que tenga tabletas, pastillas, cápsulas, parches y otros sólidos en forma de medicamentos recetados puede llevarlos al vestíbulo del Departamento de Policía de Bishop y colocarlos en el recipiente apropiado. Además, para recordar a todos los ciudadanos de Bishop y sus alrededores, mantenemos un recipiente de eliminación en el vestíbulo que siempre está accesible Al público para la eliminación de medicamentos recetados. ****Stolen Forest Service Vehicle Has Been Located****

On March 27, 2023, The Bishop Police Department was made aware of a vehicle theft that occurred at the US Forestry Building, 798 N. Main Street, Bishop, CA. The vehicle is a Ford F450 (CA 71097SU). The attached photograph is the actual stolen vehicle, and is still outstanding. The Bishop Police Department is asking the public to be on the lookout for this vehicle and if seen or if anyone has any information related to this theft, please contact the Bishop Police Department at (760) 873-5866.

Chief Standridge and the Bishop Lions Club had a great time cooking a pancake breakfast for Bishop Little League on Saturday morning. The Lions Club served over 300 players and family members.
