The process isn't always pretty, but the outcome is always well worth it.

This is a live oak that has been overgrown for almost three years. Because Pearl kept it routinely tight and always trimmed, he was able to stunt the growth which made it become more dense, similar to bonsai techniques.

Topiary is achieved in stages. Do not rush. Take your time. As this design fills in over the next few months, the following trim will add more details, bringing the final vision to light. With a little hard work and patience, anything can be achieved.

All trimming is currently being done by Mike Gibson.

We are very grateful for this article in the Lee County Observer. Gee Whetsel has been covering Pearl since the very beginning. The Fryar's were so happy to see her, and everyone else that came out last week to help with the restoration process. With the help of all the organizations involved, the garden is starting to look a lot like it's old self again.
