RED, WHITE AND BLUE FOR THE 250TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION!
A big shout out to Lee County’s Windy Bussart and B’s Greenhouse who provided the red, white and blue plants for the planters on Bishopville’s Main Street. Paired with the freshly painted red, white and blue painted hydrants, they are the perfect combination for the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution! “Bishopville’s Superintendent of the Street Department John Couser and his crew have done a fabulous job of getting them planted and growing for the upcoming festival and our company coming in,” said Lee County 250 Commission member Annie McIlhenny. “They will look so good with the American flags flying!” South Carolina is gearing up for the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution with a statewide initiative known as SC250. This multi-year effort honors the people, places, and events that shaped the fight for independence. The Lee County 250 Commission is leading efforts to educate, commemorate and encourage heritage tourism in our state up until the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Paris Peace Treaty in 1783.
