The Bismarck State College Police Department is dedicated to providing a safe and secure environment for the thousands of students, faculty, staff, and visitors at BSC. The Bismarck State College Police Department is directly responsible for enforcing local, state, and federal laws, as well as institutional policies on all property controlled by BSC and the State Board of Higher Education. BSC PD
currently employs 3 sworn police officers who are state certified peace officers with full arrest authority in accordance with the ND POST Board and the State Board of Higher Education. In addition, BSC PD also employs non-sworn Campus Safety Officers (CSO's) who are typically students, who assist with security checks, parking enforcement, and other minor infractions. Between students, staff, faculty, visitors, special events, and the motoring public traveling through campus, BSC PD services a population of 3,000 to 5,000 people daily. All BSC PD sworn and non-sworn personnel strive to provide our BSC campus community with the utmost professional service utilizing community-oriented policing principals. Individuals who like and follow the BSC PD page, but repeatedly engage in unproductive and repetitive "attacks" against BSC or its departments may be banned from the ability to post on the page. We understand and encourage respectful disagreement and appreciate hearing directly from the community. However, we do not operate a page for others to express their individual continued displeasure of our department or employees in a disrespectful way.
