On August 2nd, 2026, at approximately 1735 hours, Officers with the Bismarck Police Department responded to the 900 block of High Street for a report of a disturbance.

When Officers arrived and conducted an investigation, Amanda Hadley was arrested and transported to the St. Francois County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.

A report was forwarded to the S. Francois County Prosecutor's Office. The victim was transported to a local medical facility for treatment.

The following day, a warrant was issued for Domestic Assault 2nd Degree-Felony, and bond was set at $20,000.00 Cash or Surety.

On December 19th, 2024, the Bismarck Police Department responded to a burglary not in progress in the 700 block of Pine Street. A report was made and filed.

After a follow-up investigation occurred on August 6th, 2026, Robert Lawson was arrested during a traffic stop and transported to the St. Francois County Jail. Lawson was placed on a 24-hour hold, and a report was forwarded to the St. Francois County Prosecutor's Office.

The following day, a warrant was issued for Lawson for Burglary 2nd-Felony, Stealing-Felony, and Possession of Burglary Tools-Felony. Bond was set at $20,000.00. A co-defendant who is currently in the Missouri Department of Corrections will also be charged at a later time.

On July 23rd, 2026, at approximately 1136 hours, Officers with the Bismarck Police Department responded to the 1100 block of Spruce Street for a report of a domestic disturbance in progress.

When Officers arrived, they made contact with both parties involved. During the investigation, officers also located minor children in the residence and discovered the residence in deplorable living conditions. The children were also in need of medical aid due to injuries. Officers took the children into protective custody and notified the Missouri Department of Children’s Division.

The children were transported for medical aid, and the parents were taken into custody and transported to the St. Francois County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending warrants.

The following day, a report was filed with the St. Francois County Prosecutor's Office, and warrants were issued on Valirie Warren and Jake Sutton. Both were charged with 2 counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Bond was set at $50,000.00 Cash or Surety.

Other children, who were not at the residence at the time of the investigation, were located and also placed in protective custody.

Warren and Sutton have since had their bond reduced; however, on August 12th, a Grand Jury issued an indictment against both of them.

On August 13th, 2026, at approximately 1150 hours, an Officer with the Bismarck Police Department was operating stationary radar in the 500 block of Cedar Street. The Officer observed a vehicle traveling 66 miles per hour in a 30-mile-per-hour zone. The Officer immediately activated his emergency equipment and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The driver fled, and a pursuit ensued.

The Officer continued the pursuit south on State Highway N. Due to the unsafe traffic conditions and a construction zone, the Officer terminated the pursuit north of State Highway NN. The Officer began an investigation to identify the vehicle's driver. During the investigation, the Officer used the Automated License Plate Reader service (FlockSafety) to identify the vehicle.

A few hours later, a Deputy with the St. Francois County Sheriff's Office located the vehicle and driver in Bonne Terre; the Deputy took the driver into custody, and a Bismarck Police Officer responded and transported the suspect to the St. Francois County Jail.

Hayden Henson was placed on a 24-hour hold, and a report was filed with the St. Francois County Prosecutor's Office. A warrant was issued for Henson for:

Aggravated Fleeing a Stop-Felony (Valentine's Law)

Operated a Motor Vehicle in a Careless and Imprudent Manner-Misdemeanor

Bond was set at $50,000.00 Cash or Surety.

On July 18th, 2026, at approximately 3:00 A.M., the Bismarck Police Department conducted a joint investigation with the Oregon County Sheriff’s Office regarding Child Kidnapping. During the investigation, an Officer responded to the 300 block of Merle Street. The Officer located 2 victims, one of whom was only 11 years of age, and two suspects. Both victims were placed into protective custody and transported to a safe location, where they were reunited with their parents.

Both suspects were also located and taken into custody. 21-year old Connor Coleman and 24-year-old Ethan Moore, both of Bismarck, were transported to the St. Francois County Jail. Both Coleman and Moore were placed on a 24- hour hold pending a warrant. A short time later, the Oregon County Courts issued NO BOND warrants on both Coleman and Moore for Child Kidnapping Class A Felony.

Coleman and Moore were extradited to Oregon County.

On May 27th, 2026, officers with the Bismarck Police Department were dispatched to the 500 block of Center Street in response to a report of a Terrorist Threat. During the investigation, Probable
Cause was established that Richard Grant had made a statement that he was going to shoot students at the Bismarck R-5 School District, and then Law Enforcement, when they arrived to render aid. School Administration was notified of the threat, and precautionary measures were taken.

Grant was located at the Iron County Hospital and taken into custody. Grant was transported to the St. Francois County Jail. The following day, a warrant was issued by the St. Francois County
Courts. Grant was charged with Terrorist Threat 1st Degree and is being held with No Bond. We would like to thank the Iron County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in detaining Grant until officers arrived, and the St. Francois County Prosecutor's Office for their timely review and issuance of charges.

On March 23rd, 2026, at approximately 0045 hours, the Bismarck Police Department was dispatched to the 500 block of South Cedar Street for a report of shots fired and a subject possibly shot. Deputies from the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to assist.

The victim fled for safety and was located in Iron County by Iron County Deputies. During the course of the investigation, a white male identified as Joshua Hoar was taken into custody and transported to the St. Francois County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending a warrant. The victim was not struck by a bullet; however, the victim's vehicle was struck.

The following day, a warrant was issued by the St. Francois County Courts. Hoar was formally charged with Assault 1st degree or Attempted-Felony, Armed Criminal Action-Felony, Discharge/Shoot Fi***rm at or from a Motor Vehicle/Person, Another Motor Vehicle, or Building/Habitable Structure-Persistent Offender-Felony, Armed Criminal Action-Felony, and Property Damage 1st Degree-Felony. Bond was set at $100,000.00 Cash or Surety.

*****PRESS RELEASE*****

On March 13th, 2026, the Bismarck Police Department investigated a theft of Union Pacific Railroad property. Witnesses identified a U-Haul rental vehicle being used in the theft.

On March 15th, 2026, the U-Haul was located in the 1100 Block of West Main Street. Probable Cause was established to search the residence. Assisted by the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Office, Park Hills Police Department, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the residence was searched. Hiding inside the residence were Misty Hicks, Jon Ayers, and Timothy Reed. Hicks was hiding in a closet in a bedroom, Ayers was in a different closet in another bedroom and was located by the Sheriff’s Office K-9, and Reed was in a hidden compartment in the attic.

All three subjects were arrested for the following warrants:

Hicks-Multiple Bismarck Municipal warrants, and also received a no-bond Missouri Probation and Parole warrant for violating her probation status, due to being arrested.

Ayers-Had a Bismarck Municipal warrant and a no-bond Missouri Probation and Parole violation warrant out of Franklin County Felony.

Reed-Had an Iron County warrant for Stealing-Felony, and an Absconder warrant through the Missouri Probation and Parole Felony.

All subjects were transported to the St. Francois County Jail. The following day, Reed was returned to the custody of the Missouri State Department of Corrections.

The Bismarck Police Department would like to thank the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Office and K-9 Unit, the Park Hills Police Department, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
