Perkins County Conservation Office We are the people you can contact to learn more about conservation of our natural resources.

Perkins County Conservation Office offers a multitude of different environmental services including tree planting and fabric laying during the Spring months. Also for sale are potted plants, hand plants, and Plantskydd repellent. The District also offers a 15ft John Deere No-till Drill, and W**d Roller for rent. Perkins County Conservation District is looking to hire tree planters and fabric layers for the 2026 tree planting season!
These positions start at the beginning of May and run to the end of June, weather depending.

We’re Hiring‼️

The Perkins County Conservation District is looking for watercraft inspectors to join our seasonal team at Shadehill. In this position you will be inspecting watercrafts to prevent the spread of invasive species like zebra mussels.

- Part-time & Full-time seasonal openings
- 10-hour shifts, 7 days a week (weekend and holiday availability required)
- Each employee will work only up to 40 hours per week
- You will get to work outdoors all season long
- Must be 16 years old to apply

Season runs from middle/end of May to middle/end of September. We are willing to work with college/high school students and their schedules for start and end dates. Looking for dependable & motivated individuals who are comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.

There was a printing error with our tree order form that is now corrected.
For Ornamental bareroot trees 5’ & up they are $59.00 per tree and come in a bundle of 5. We can split a bundle if you do not want all 5 trees in the bundle.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) established a national Jan. 15, 2026, batching deadline for the first funding round of key conservation programs. Programs with a January 15, 2026, batching period deadline include:

Agricultural Conservation Easement Program (ACEP)
Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP)
Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP)
New NRCS Regenerative Pilot Program (EQIP & CSP)
