When Bixby High School’s amazing art teacher, Julie Jankowski, was asked why she supports BEEF, she said this, “I love that the Bixby Educational Endowment Foundation directly impacts what happens inside my classroom, and not just for current students, but for future classes for years to come! Sometimes putting effort into writing a grant can feel daunting, but BEEF makes it incredibly easy and rewarding. Having an organization back our curriculum needs makes me feel so supported and seen as an educator. BEEF gives us the tools to ensure our students reach their full creative potential, and that’s simply amazing!
Julie has been an educator for 18 years, including nine years in TPS before joining Bixby Public Schools. She’s taught at the elementary school level for five years, middle school for five years, and high school for eight years, and she’s currently completing her Masters in Art Education through the Art of Education University. She will graduate in the summer of 2027! Congratulations, Julie, that’s fantastic!
Julie also had this to say,
“ thanks to a beef grant that I received last year, we received five brand-new pottery wheels to launch our first ever ceramics classes at the high school! Watching students learn to throw pottery was amazing, but seeing several of our recent graduates launch their own online ceramics business was unforgettable. BEEF truly helps build skills that last a lifetime! Thank you, BEEF!”
BPS certainly is lucky to have such an amazing art teacher. Julie goes above and beyond for her students every day!
