BIXBY POLICE IDENTIFY MAN RECOVERED FROM ARKANSAS RIVER IN 2022 THROUGH USE OF GENETIC GENEOLOGY
After approximately four years of investigation, the Bixby Police Department, along with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations, Parabon NanoLabs, the Oklahoma Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Office, LeadsOnline, and the family of the decedent, have positively identified remains recovered from the Arkansas River in 2022 as Rudolf “Rudy” Von Koerner.
WE STILL NEED YOUR HELP
Although Von Koerner is identified, the circumstances surrounding his death remain under investigation. At this time, Bixby Police investigators and the Oklahoma Office of the Chief Medical Examiner have not conclusively determined the cause and manner of death.
The Bixby Police Department is asking for the public's assistance. Anyone with information concerning Von Koerner's death, and/or his whereabouts and activities before his death is asked to contact the Bixby Police Department at 918-366-8294.
The Bixby Police Department extends its condolences to Von Koerner's family and its sincere appreciation to everyone whose cooperation helped return a name to a man who remained unidentified for nearly four years.
