Just a heads-up for some of our seniors on Tuesday. If you're coming from and/or going back to Enumclaw between 9am and 2pm, don't forget to take one of the detours: SE 400th St and 212th Ave SE to the Auburn Black Diamond Road (Roberts Drive), or the Enumclaw Franklin Road to the Gorge and Lawson (Hill) Street.

To help you plan the week ahead (we're already thinking about next week), we wanted to let you know that there will be a brief, full closure of the SR 169 Green River/Kummer bridge between Black Diamond and Enumclaw on Tuesday, Aug. 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. During those three hours, a signed 9-mile detour will be in place to help you get around.

We have to fully close the bridge in both directions on Tuesday so bridge maintenance crews can take the precise measurements needed to help develop a repair plan. Over the last few weeks, we've restricted traffic on the bridge to one way, alternating with a signal in place after our bridge inspection crews discovered cracking and advanced corrosion in the bridge's steel stringers underneath the bridge.

Once this work is done, traffic will return to one way alternating down the center of the bridge, using a temporary signal. From there, we’ll formulate a repair plan. We plan to work quickly and make the most out of the short work window, but in the meantime, expect significant delays on the detour.

Happy Fourth of July!!!
Our seniors had their party today, an indoor AC'd picnic woth Costco-sized hotdogs, baken beans, chips, watermelon, and other goodies.

Some of our seniors are missing out on the clam chowder! We had some leftovers, and I went over to invite over Goodfellow Bros for lunch, but they broke for lunch right as we were serving. Well they missed out too!

Brennan Gives 💙

Brennan is proud to support the Black Diamond Community Center, a nonprofit that truly serves as the heart of its community. Led by Executive Director Cheryl Hanson and supported by staff members James Lesinski and Leslie Johnson, the center operates with just three employees and a team of 11 dedicated volunteers. Together, they prepare meals for seniors, provide foot care services, offer meeting space for local events, and supply essentials like food, diapers, school supplies, holiday gifts, warm coats, and clothing to those in need. They also run a phone tree to check in on homebound individuals and deliver meals and groceries to their doors. Their impact is remarkable, powered by a small, passionate team working every day to support their neighbors with care and compassion.
