Tonight at 1am, Black Earth squad 85 retires after four years of service. 85 brought hundreds of smiles to kids that played with the siren in parades or posed for pictures with it at halloween.

The Safer Community Coalition has given us new "Slow Down" yard signs. Please come down to the police department and pick one up. The signs are free and a great reminder for drivers to watch their speed.

Shop With a Cop is a program sponsored by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office to assist local disadvantaged kids during the Holiday Season. Each child pairs up with a Deputy and receives a credit of approximately $150.00 to spend, at Target, for family holiday shopping. To donate contact the Black Earth Police Department at 608-767-4904.
