The Gilpin Ambulance Authority is proud to offer a new communication tool for the Gilpin Community. Stop by and see us at the Gilpin County Fair this weekend! The GAA will be rolling out Community Connect. Community Connect allows the members of our community to create a secure account and provide details about their residence to help GAA and other first responders in the event we are dispatched to your home.

Important information like any special access points, will someone in the home require assistance if an evacuation is ordered, gate codes or hazards that may be located on your property. If your address has pertinent information listed, once we are dispatched and the address is input by our GAA crews, the information you have entered will be available to our responders on our secure patient care computers.

This program goes hand and hand with our Community Assistance Resource and Education Services program (C.A.R.E.S) that the GAA rolled out last summer at the Gilpin County Fair! We have also partnered with Gilpin County Senior Services and help with the distriubtion of gently used medical equipment for the members of our community that need them. We will be accepting gently used medical equipment like crutches, walkers and shower chairs to just name a few items at the upcoming fair!

Again, stop by our booth at the Gilpin County Fair July 11th, 12th or 13th!

For additional information contact Deputy Chief/Community Paramedic Bobby Putnam at 303-582-5499 ext 2 or at [email protected]. You can also refer someone in need of our C.A.R.E.S program assistance or a life alert system via our website at www.gilpinambulance.com -- GAA CARES.

We hope to see you at the fair!!

Many of our crews enjoy the clear nights with breathtaking views. Earlier this week was no exception. The back roads were much busier than normal but it was nice to meet so many locals out doing the same thing. The northern lights aren't always visible but it was an experience our crews won't soon forget.

With the extreme temperatures and very active fire behavior in the surrounding areas, we would like you to take some preemptive steps to prepare for immediate evacuation should the need arise.

There are currently no fires in Gilpin County but as we know, things change quickly. There are currently 3 large fires on the front range that are using resources from mutual aid partners throughout the state which is starting to limit the resources to battle the issue.

Take a quick look at the picture below to find what items you should have ready to go if an evacuation notice is issued for your area.

Being in the mountains has some amazing views for hiking. Have you ever wonder how EMS professionals get to those patients who are injured? The answer is Medic 116, our specialized UTV equipped with a stretcher in the rear compartment. This awesome piece of equipment comes in handy when working with our response partners such as Timberline Fire Protection District, Central City Fire Department and Black Hawk Fire Department.

EMS at Gilpin County Fair

Gilpin Ambulance Authority (GAA) is committed to the health and safety of the community, providing comprehensive first aid services at the county fair. Their skilled paramedics and EMTs are on-site, ready to handle any medical emergencies that arise during the event.

Additionally, they offer several vital services including the GAA CARES Program, which focuses on community health and emergency preparedness. For those seeking routine health checks such as a 12 Lead EKG and free blood pressure screenings are available.

To ensure everyone stays safe and comfortable, the Authority sets up a cooling area where visitors can escape the heat and sun.

Gilpin Ambulance Authority’s presence at the county fair underscores their dedication to providing essential health services and fostering a safer, healthier community. Come on by and check out the new CARES program and how it can help you.

If you have any slightly used medical equipment that you no longer need and would like to donate, please drop them off at Gilpin Ambulance’s Booth (39 &40). These items will be used to help folks in need. Please only bring reusable equipment. No “single use” items will be accepted unless they are new in package.
