The monarchs are also coming to the Black Mountain Public Library!

Join us at The North Carolina Arboretum on September 19th for a day dedicated to the Monarch Butterfly! 🦋 Each fall the last of the year’s monarchs pass through Western North Carolina during their winter migration to Mexico, so what better time to celebrate!?

From 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., you can enjoy a variety of activities, including a mini-live monarch tagging and release demonstration, crafts and educational exhibitors, a monarch-focused story walk.

Greenway Closure: A section of the Flat Creek Greenway between Stepp St. and Charles Ct. will remained closed until further notice due to hazardous conditions. Please avoid this section of the greenway as we work to make improvements.

Remember the America 250 display in the lobby during July? Thanks to the friends who filled out slips, Black Mountain Bound: a Collective Memory Book is headed to the Special Collections time capsule. We included all the slips we received in the pockets of the folders and envelopes you see in the book.
