Ho-Chunk Nation 477 Federal Program This is the Ho-Chunk Nation 477 Federal Program. We will help any individuals who are enrolled in a FEDERALLY RECOGNIZED TRIBE.

Services we offer: School tuition, GED/HSED, assistance for trainings/workshops/certifications, AVE & YVE - Adult & Youth Vocational Exploration for individuals with little to no job experience, Supportive Services for New Hires that need gas assistance and uniform/work attire. For school, trainings, and certifications you must submit a copy of your high school diploma and provide copies of the curriculum, including the costs, location, duration and confirmation of the acceptance or registration. For the AVE & YVE program, participants must have a resume and undergo periodic job-readiness assessments. For Supportive Services, Clients must be signed up with the 477 program PRIOR to accepting a job offer. Otherwise, they will be ineligible. Individuals are only eligible for gas assistance every 6 months. For uniform/work attire/boots/shoes is once per year. ALL SERVICES ARE CONTINGENT UPON THE AVAILABLITY OF FUNDS AND NO SERVICES ARE GUARANTEED. For more information, please feel free to contact our office. Our office hours are from 8:00am-4:30pm.

Announcement: The Ho-Chunk Nation Legislature repealed the T.E.R.O ordinance; the TERO staff is now called Tribal Workforce development division of the HCN Labor Department. They are tasked with developing training programs for tribal members for employment. Supportive Services is no longer offered through TERO.

The LTT (Limited Term Training) program is set and ready for a new season! If you haven't already been in the program before, you may be eligible for this 4 week paid training program. Contact the Labor Department for more details. 715-284-5877

Your 477 federal programs staff is currently at the NINAETC 2015 conference, with over 100 tribes and organizations. Training and learning to help service our community.


The 477 federal program staff will be out of the office next week for training in Durant, Oklahoma, August 17th-August 21st. We will resume business on Monday August 24th. If you would like to schedule an appointment, please call 715-284-5877.

The 477 team took a tour of GNP, Golden Plump, factory located in Arcadia, WI. We have networked with their Human Resources Office so they will give preference to HCN tribal members/477 clients.
