Dear Blackburn residents,

I wanted to address the concerns with the city wide clean up dumpsters. It has come to my attention that we are putting paint cans in the dumpster. That was on the prohibited items list on the flier that was distributed. I have also been made aware people from outside of town are dumping trash in the dumpsters also. We need to work as a town to keep these issues to minimum because this is our tax money that we are using to help our town. If you see someone putting prohibited items in the dumpster or non-residents using the dumpsters, please remind them of prohibited items and that this is for Blackburn residents only. If they are unwilling to listen, do your best to take down what you can and report it to the mayor or your local Alderman. If you have dumped prohibited items in the dumpster, please take the time to go remove your items. It is in all our best interest to make sure these things are adhered to. If we fail to be responsible adults, it will cost all of us more money and make it harder for us to continue doing projects that are aimed at making the town a better place. I sincerely hope that we can come together and make this a positive situation for all of us. This has put my idea of making a place to put tree trimmings in a burn pile on indefinite hold as I feel it will be neglected and just cost us money and a headache we don’t need or can afford. It is really sad that a few bad apples will destroy the progress we are striving for. I have hope for our future but it takes more that a few people to care. Caring is not complaining about something, but putting the effort to work with your fellow residents to make a positive change. I hope to see more proactive involvement in the town ranging from more attendance at city hall meetings and putting together projects to help make our town better. Please feel free to let me know if you have questions.

Sincerely,
Jeremy McKeage

Good evening, BCB is looking for volunteers to help sell raffle tickets for the BCB Americans 250th birthday quilt at the Alma 4th of July celebration. Unfortunately, I will be out of town that weekend. If you are interested in helping, please let me know. Thank you and have a great evening.

BCB is looking for Volunteers to start a committee for the Blackburn Haunted Halloween which will be held on 31OCT26. We are trying to get the old fire house, the city hall, a tent, main street and a few buildings decked out for a great time. Our goal is to raise money for our small (but great) little town and make a great, safe time for all families. We look forward to hearing from our wonderful residents and friends from the surrounding areas.
