This Week’s Episode of Spotlight Now is Here!
This week’s episode of Spotlight Now features Amanda Peckman of Kings Mountain Preserve in Blacksburg, South Carolina. Tune in to discover how Kings Mountain Preserve is preserving wild landscapes through conservation burial, transforming remembrance into a lasting act of stewardship.
About Our Guest:
Amanda Peckman serves as the Director of Kings Mountain Preserve, a conservation green cemetery. Amanda’s friends would describe her as a lifelong learner, an empathetic conversationalist, and a passionate advocate. She lives and loves in North Carolina with her husband and their 3 children. You can find Amanda outside playing with her kids, gardening, and hiking. You may also find her inside hosting community gatherings, developing a new recipe, or in deep conversation - either with people or through reading a book. She is an authentic individual, driven by her faith and love.
She became interested in all things green burial when she saw how much her love for people and nature intersected in the practices found within conservation burial. Death has always been a prominent presence in her life. Experiencing the mark of grief on her family from a young age has made her sensitive to the fragility of life.
