There's still time to apply!

Producers in the Chesapeake Bay watershed may be eligible for funding to adopt technology that supports cover crop planting. Applications close July 15.

What would it take to get more cover crops planted earlier—especially behind soybeans?

If you have an innovative idea, we want to hear it.

Sustainable Chesapeake is now accepting proposals for farmer-led innovations in cover cropping. We're looking for practical solutions that can help farmers plant cover crops earlier, increase adoption, improve profitability, and strengthen water quality outcomes in the Virginia Chesapeake Bay watershed.

Farmers, agribusinesses, crop consultants, researchers, equipment manufacturers, and entrepreneurs are encouraged to apply.

We’re excited to continue expanding opportunities for producers through this newly approved extension.

This additional year will allow us to keep supporting farmers and ranchers who are implementing conservation practices that enhance soil health, improve pasture and crop management, and strengthen the long-term resilience of their operations.

So far, the Alliance has enrolled more than 1,800 producers and nearly 475,000 acres — and we look forward to building on that momentum in the year ahead.

Applications for producers in Arkansas and Virginia are still open! Learn more, check eligibility, and apply at www.allianceforcsa.org.

A Virginia Tech-led initiative helping farmers adopt climate-smart practices will continue after receiving an extension from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. 🌱
