📸 When you're heading to tomorrow's game, take a picture of your friend, child or other group members in their current outfit before entering the stadium! This can be extremely helpful if you become separated and need assistance in reconnecting with your loved ones.

📍Don’t forget to designate a recognizable meeting place for your group in case you get separated.

🚗While you have the camera out, take a picture of where you parked! This will save you time after the game.

Have a fantastic, safe first home game! 🧡 Go Hokies!!

⚠️Scammers are also excited for Hokie Football's first game... 😡 Beware of fraudulent tickets and scammers asking you to pay multiple times!

The Virginia Tech Police Department is aware of recent scams in our community involving football ticket sales. Payment is typically requested upfront through an electronic payment service or app and the money is taken without the shipment of the product purchased.

In the past, scammers have used fraudulently obtained pictures of Hokie Passports as proof the scammer is a student.

➡Purchase tickets from official vendors. SeatGeek.com is the official ticketing partner of Virginia Tech Athletics.
➡Know that there are very few “printed” tickets. Most tickets to Virginia Tech athletic events are electronic and must be transferred.
➡Never post or share an image of your ticket as it opens you up to fraud and copying.

Protect Yourself:
➡Scammers frequently employ aggressive tactics and urgency to manipulate victims. Protect yourself by staying informed about common scams affecting the Virginia Tech community.
➡For local exchanges, consider using the Virginia Tech Police Exchange Zone located at the Public Safety Building.

For your safety and security, remain cautious and informed about ongoing scams within the community. Find more safety tips and information at police.vt.edu/safety-security/safety-tips.

To report suspicious contacts or potential scams on campus, reach out to the Virginia Tech Police Department at 540-382-4343 or email [email protected]. Contact your local jurisdiction if you are away from campus.

17 years ago, we lost two Virginia Tech students, Heidi Childs and David Metzler, after they were senselessly murdered in the parking lot of Caldwell Fields.

We are seeking the public's continued assistance in bringing the killer(s) to justice. The reward for any information that leads to an arrest in the murders of Metzler and Childs is $100,000.

Welcome home, Hokies! 🧡🦃 Welcome to Virginia Tech from the Virginia Tech Police Department:

The Virginia Tech Police Department would like to welcome all of our students, faculty, staff and visitors to campus this week.

Our mission is to enhance the safety and quality of life through effective law enforcement and proactive crime prevention in partnership with the community.

In order to accomplish this, it is important that everyone understands that safety is a shared responsibility between all community members.

We encourage everyone to participate by thinking about vehicle/pedestrian safety, reporting suspicious or unsafe conditions and learning about the No Hokie Left Behind program.

Our officers are a key resource for the community and I encourage you to stop and talk with them while they are out on patrol or engaging in community activities.

Let's help make this upcoming year a safe and enjoyable year for everyone.
