📢🍎 SUMMER MEAL PROGRAM EXPANSION! 🍎📢

The Blackwell Public Library is excited to share some great news!

Beginning Wednesday, June 24, our FREE Summer Meal Box Program will expand to better serve local families.

Thanks to our partners, we will now receive 200 meal boxes each week — double our previous allotment of 100 boxes — through the remainder of the program on July 29.

Our program will be held as usual (100 boxes; 10:30 - 11:30) on June 17.

To accommodate the increased distribution, we are also extending pickup hours effective June 24.

✅ New Pickup Time: 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
✅ Every Wednesday through July 29
✅ Drive-thru pickup
✅ One meal box per child (ages 18 and under)

Each box contains a week's worth of shelf-stable meals for children and teens.

📍 Pickup Location: The alley between the Blackwell Public Library and the Top of Oklahoma Historical Society Museum.

🚗 Traffic Instructions: Please line up along 1st Street, turn onto Padon Avenue, and then enter the alley for pickup.

A parent or guardian must be present to pick up meal boxes, but children do not need to be in the vehicle.

Meal boxes are available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

We are grateful to Hunger Free Oklahoma and the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma for helping us provide this important resource to children and families throughout our community.

Please help us spread the word so more families can benefit from this program this summer.

It’s time to register for the 35th annual Arts Adventure Summer Camp! The deadline to register is June 24th.

The camp runs July 13th-16th from 12:45 p.m. – 5:15 p.m. and is open for incoming 6th graders through those who have just completed high school.

Classes offered this year include: Board Game Design, Cartooning, Contemporary Choreography and Creative Dance, Digital Escape Room, Dragon Eyes Sculpture, Drawing Fundamentals, Figure Drawing, Jewelry and Ornament Making, Music Theatre Dance, Musical Theatre, Song Cover and Recording, Stage Makeup, Tinfoil Sculpting & Blacklight Desert Painting, Video Production/Computer Graphics, and Vocal Exploration.

Scholarships are available for campers who qualify!

📚 NEW RELEASE at Blackwell Public Library! 📚

Marvels by Steve Darnall is now available at the Blackwell Public Library.

For the first time, Kurt Busiek and Alex Ross’ classic 1994 Marvel Comics miniseries has been adapted into a novel, offering a fresh new take on one of the most celebrated stories in Marvel history.

Set between 1939 and 1974, Marvels follows news photographer Phil Sheldon, an ordinary man documenting an extraordinary world filled with costumed heroes, cosmic threats, and history-changing events.
