🌟 EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: BOBBY JULIAN — BLACKWELL PUBLIC LIBRARY 🌟

This week, the City of Blackwell Employee Spotlight is shining on Bobby Julian, custodian at the Blackwell Public Library!

For eight years, Bobby has worked diligently behind the scenes to keep the Library clean, welcoming and ready for everyone who walks through its doors.

“I love my job,” Bobby said. “I love being able to help make our Library a clean and friendly place for everyone that comes in.”

For Bobby, his work is also a matter of community pride.

“The Library is a place that I try and make our community proud of,” he said.

Originally from the Tulsa area, Bobby has come to appreciate, and even prefer, the slower pace of life in Blackwell.

When he isn’t keeping the Library looking its best, Bobby enjoys spending time with his family, working with his ham radio and gardening.

And if he could travel anywhere?

“Anywhere in the USA is fine by me,” Bobby said.

Bobby’s work helps make the Blackwell Public Library a welcoming place for our entire community every single day.

Thank you for eight years of hard work and dedication to the City of Blackwell, Bobby!

Moving Forward Together
The Blackwell Chamber is pleased to announce a new collaborative leadership partnership with the Blackwell Industrial Authority (BIA) designed to strengthen the Chamber and position it for continued growth and success.

As part of this partnership, Charlene Flanery, Acting Executive Director of the Blackwell Industrial Authority, will serve as the Chamber’s Executive Director & CEO, working closely with the Chamber’s Board of Directors, members, and community partners.

Charlene brings extensive professional experience in economic development, organizational leadership, strategic planning, and community and government partnerships. She holds a master’s degree in Grant Writing, Management and Evaluation and is a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) and Master Economic Development Practitioner (MEDP). Her experience includes leadership within the state’s professional economic development organization, as well as working with legislators and state, local, and regional officials on economic development initiatives.

Through her work with the Blackwell Industrial Authority and throughout her career in economic development, Charlene has developed a broad understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing businesses and communities and the importance of strong partnerships in creating sustainable economic growth.

This collaborative approach will focus on refining the Chamber’s organizational structure, strengthening member services and engagement, supporting continued Board development, and establishing a clear strategic direction for the organization.

The goal is simple: to build on the Chamber’s foundation, sharpen its focus, and ensure it is delivering meaningful value to its members and the Blackwell community.

Over the coming months, Charlene will work alongside Chamber leadership and members to identify opportunities, strengthen connections, and help shape a strategic path forward for the organization.

This partnership represents an opportunity to bring together the strengths, resources, and relationships of two local organizations that share a common goal: a stronger business community and a stronger Blackwell.

The Blackwell Industrial Authority's Chairman of the Board of Directors, Darrel Grossardt, states, "The Blackwell Economic Development and Industrial Authority is pleased to jointly announce an agreement with Blackwell Chamber of Commerce to achieve our shared goals of strengthening and enhancing the Chamber's value to its membership, which in turn will strengthen the local economy. We look forward to a close and long-term relationship."

Blackwell Chamber of Commerce Board President, Andrew Campbell, states, "We look forward to a renewed and strengthened relationship with the BIA, and we are thankful for this partnership opportunity. We are excited about the future of the Chamber, the value we can provide for our members, and our role in contributing to and fostering a stronger local economy."

We are excited about this next chapter and look forward to working together to build an even stronger, more effective Chamber.
The future of our Chamber is a collaborative effort—and we’re moving forward together.
